Nick Kempf is PhD student in Mechanical Engineering at Notre Dame. He received bachelors degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Pure Mathematics, and Applied Mathematics in Spring 2015, and master degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2017. Nick is an awardee of a prestigious 3-year fellowship from the Department of Energy Office of Nuclear Energy for research toward nuclear energy enabling technologies. His research focuses on the radiation effect on advanced materials and development of novel instrumentation for micro and nanoscale material characterization. Other research includes thermoelectric device design and CFD.
